1,000 words

A picture says 1,000 words.

The last few days I have seen a few pictures stream over Facebook from my Uncle.  At the moment 2 of my 5 cousins live in Colorado Springs.  The other night evacuations took place because the fires in the area were getting too close to their homes.

Rachel & Kristin...praying for you and that you stay safe!  (Kristin is getting towards the end of her pregnancy too so I'm sure it is not the best time to be out of the comforts of your own home).  If you think of it...pray that Colorado gets some rain.  Now would be a good time to say a few words.

taken on Tuesday...June 26th

These next pictures are of another fire.  Chris traveled on a missions trip a few years ago to help out a school that is located here.  Since then this area has been a part of our lives and we have been in contact with the missionary who is in charge of this school ever since.  Narrow Road Coffee also helps support this missionary and recognizes the struggles that he is up against with the country, environment and culture.

A 14 year old girl and her brother share the room that was destroyed.  Everything that she had is pretty much gone...and compared to what we live with here in America, we would think that she already had very little.  So much sadness in the picture...you can't help but want to reach out and help.  I've e-mailed the person that is in charge of the school that this girl attends to see if there is something that we can do here and if he thinks it is a good idea to send down things that we have that she might need.  If I hear back I will post on here to see what can be collected from others or post the address so we can get this school and family the help that they need.

At our house this morning we talked about joy.  I pray that we will be able to put some joy back in the life of this girl.

If you want to help out this family as well, please comment or send an e-mail to me at mominmn@gmail.com

My cousin posted that neighboring homes are on fire tonight. :( So sad. They are safe though and took the last picture from their car when they left their home today.
