1 mile down...how many more to go

I did it!

It is a gorgeous night out today.  Summer is in our winter air and you really just have to take advantage of these days.

We had a day with a few hours in the car, then a fast trip to the grocery store so we had something to eat tonight and something to put in our cupboards.  Swimming lessons from 5pm to about 7:15pm and then home.

The sun was still out a little bit and the air was nice and cool and so I put on my running shoes and went for a run.

I really wasn't sure what I could do.  I've been running on the treadmill and doing lots of intervals but haven't been trying to do any type of distance.

One mile may not seem like much for a lot of people but one mile with stopping only two or three times to cross the street is a huge step for me.  I was very happy with my results today!

Running isn't going to win me any races because I am pretty slow but I am glad that I am finally able to get out there and run outside.  My plan is to increase my time as much as I can and see how many miles I can get out there on the pavement.

Running a mile is huge! Good for you! Slow and steady wins the race. Maybe not the top prize at a timed run, but in life, it's the best way!
