Let the Renovation Begin

Our house is no spring chicken.  We moved to our home when Micah was just a baby so we have been here a few years now.  We have changed all the appliances, painted every room in the house except the basement, replaced counter tops, gutted a bathroom and about ready to gut another one.  The house is more than 20 years old and it shows.  Things are starting to show their age and as the homeowner we are responsible to take care of those things and keep our house in shape.

Today we started renovation #4 (not really sure on the number...we will just pick that number).  We are getting rid of the 20+ year doors that were hollow and the lovely and yet oh so dating trim of Golden Oak and replacing with 6 panel doors that will be white along with white trim.  The doors won't take much time...in fact they are about halfway done already.  The trim will take us some time to change throughout the main floor.  At the moment we have quite a bit off and ready to be sanded and painted tomorrow.  Eventually we will get rid of the bi-fold doors on the main floor, replace with 6 panel bi-fold doors and have those painted also along with the trim around those.

Here are a few photos of our progress.  I didn't take any pictures of our old doors...so ugly, they probably would have broken the camera lens anyways.

See that crowbar...I got that trim off :)  Good thing I've been working out!

The original door wasn't even nailed in on one side of the frame!
Isn't it crazy what you can find when you start to remodel?
