Freecycle Challenge

A lot of people don't know what Freecycle is or what can be found there. Basically, Freecycle is a group of people that help recycle items within individuals or groups rather than have items be thrown away.

You simply say that you have an item to give away and then someone comes and picks it up from you. You can also ask for specific items and those that are part of the site may have that item in their home and are ready to part with it and give it to another home.

I originally became part of Freecycle to help find items for Teen MOPS and the store that we have for the girls. I found clothing, toys, Halloween costumes, baby food and some outdoor clothing for little ones all through Freecycle and all for Teen MOPS.

I have challenged myself to give at least 1 item away each day for 30 days. This can be anything...from kids clothes, shoes, household items, decorations, etc. There is a lot of stuff in our house that we don't use or need and this is a great way to get rid of some of our extra stuff.

I have a few things in mind for what I want to give away and a few things that have already left the house.

Check and see if there is a Freecycle group in your area! A simple Google search will let you know what to do next. You may just find some good treasures or something that you need...all for free!
