Micah's new Mii has...

Sidney had her well-check complete with shots today...4 of them. Chris got to take her to this appointment. It has been quite awhile since he has been with one of the kids while they had shots so it was a good experience for him. Sidney is doing well and is on track for everything! Her next well-check (shots) is when she is 11 years old.

Micah had his big day at the eye doctor. He thought that it was a school that he was going to and that he was going to get to play some games and look at some pictures for someone. He did do those things and did a very good job. He sat in the chair that looked so huge for his little body. He even had his eyes dialated :) He had drops put in and after 20 minutes we looked to see how his eyes were doing and the drops only got in one eye. So, we braced him, laid him back and did it again in the other eye so they would both get dialated. That was the worst part. The rest of it was just ok for him. He was getting tired of saying "cake, hand, horse, bird, plane" over and over again. There was a car on the pictures too but it didn't really look like a car to a 3 year old so I don't blame him for not getting that one.

Micah's prognosis: He is 20/20 in his right eye. He is 20/100 in his left eye. Yeah, quite a difference. That is what the school system said on Tuesday too so it really wasn't a shock today, just more of verifying that he really was that and what the next step was going to be. Right now, he is getting glasses. We tried a few on today but we are going to go back tomorrow (as a family) and pick some out for Micah. His left side will be magnified 6 times stronger than the other side so it will be noticeable when you look at him but should start to help strenghten his eye. He will go back to the doctor about a month after he gets his glasses to see how they are working and how he is doing. At that point, the doctor will determine whether he needs to have his right eye (the good eye) patched and the frequency of that. She is guessing it would be about 3 days a week for a few hours each day.

I am not sure at this point when the glasses will come in but I will take a picture of him in the glasses when we get them so you can all see Micah with glasses on. I guess we will have to change his Mii on the Wii :)
