Thanksgiving...a time to reflect on what we appreciate and are truly glad about.
So, what are you thankful for? I am thankful for my family. I love my kids. They are so unique and wonderful in so many ways. I have tried to take moments and put a visual snapshot in my memory of some of my favorite memories of them. My husband is great as well and is very helpful and resourceful. My family (mom, dad, brothers & sis's) are wonderful too and I am thankful for them. Last year at this time, I almost lost my dad. We spent our Thanksgiving and the days before and after at the hospital. He was in the ICU for many days and was in the hospital for a total of 10 days because of a heart attack he had. It was a very scary time and I know that he doesn't remember most of it or seeing us a lot of the time but it was difficult for all of us. I remember when I got to the hospital, I brought most of the kids with me and some of the others were dropped off by another person. There were people everywhere it seemed and it was nice to have their support but also very difficult to process what was going on. I felt bad for the other kids. I saw their faces and they were just filled with fear. They didn't even get to see dad yet since he was in the hospital and you could tell that they wanted to but also knew that there was a reason why so many people where in the waiting room with us. I'm not exaggerating when I saw that there were at least 20 people or more at a time with us. Well, dad, we are glad that you made it and I know I have made a conscious effort to change some of my eating habits and exercise because of this experience.
This Thanksgiving it was our turn to go to Illinois to visit the Williams family.
I have to tell one story of Micah. When we got to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Wednesday night, he farted a little after we got there. Grandpa heard him and asked if that noise was the wind outside. Micah told him, "No, that's my butt." It was so funny! He was so serious about it too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
