Happy Birthday, Sidney!

Sidney turned 7 today. Wow!!!! She is like a grown-up, little girl now.

At day care today, we painted a poster that said Happy Birthday Sidney! We hung this inside the house so she would see it when she came in and we put up some balloons and another banner for the birthdays this week. She wanted us to surprise her when she came home from the bus today so we all hid around the house so she would find us. I'm not sure if she just didn't remember but we were all hiding and she walked in the house and didn't make another noise at all other than saying, "Mom?" After a minute or so, after I could tell that she wasn't looking for us, we all got out and said, "Surprise!" She said she remember that we were going to hide but the look on her face was more of worry than excitement. She like the banner :)

We celebrated her birthday tonight by going to a restaurant that she picked. Her favorite was Baker's Square, which works for us because kids eat free on Tuesdays. She even got to have a piece of cherry pie and she gobbled the entire thing down!

We came home, talked with the relatives and opened her gifts. She loved them all and was so happy! Micah had some issues while the gifts were being opened so we just got to see a precursor to what will happen at her party that we are having on Saturday.

Soccer is now over. She did awesome at her last game on Saturday. She scored a goal and even tried to kick in another goal but the ball hit the pole holding up the net. It was so close! She was competitive and went after the ball and we were just so impressed by how she did! She really improved this fall season of soccer. The team all received medals after the game and they looked so cute as they all went up to get their special gift.

To congratulate Sid on her season, we went out to eat at a Mongolian restaurant that we have in the mall. The kids loved this place and Micah wants to go back. You get to put a bunch of food in a bowl and then take the bowl to the cooking area where you get to watch your food being cooked. The cook will then give your food back to you and you go back to your seat and enjoy the food that you created.

I have been busy trying to finalize all the details for Teen MOPS which starts up again on the 28th. It was supposed to start today but I just couldn't miss spending the night with Sidney on her birthday. Day care is full and I even changed my license class to include more kids under the age of 5. I love not having to drive all over town to go to work or rush kids off to day care. Now I just am the day care so that means my days start a little early and there are always toys everywhere in our house. It is amazing how fast a tub of Lego's can spread in a room in a matter of seconds.
