We are having a major cold spell here. This weekend is supposed to be absolutely horrible for the temperature. I think our high tomorrow is supposed to be -33 degrees with the windchill and about -10 without the windchill. That is just way too cold!!!!!!! There always has to be at least one really cold week in Minnesota though.
The Eagle Cancer Telethon starts this weekend here in Rochester. In the past years, I have watched this for many hours, most into the early morning. I think it starts tomorrow sometime in the evening, goes all night and then ends sometime on Sunday. If you would like more information, there is always a link on the http://www.kttc.com/ website. There are local groups that perform all through the night and also a local beauty company comes and does free haircuts if you donate to Lock of Love.
Last year at this time, I cut my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. I had planned for a few years (just had to wait for my hair to grow out enough) to do it at the telethon but we were out of town that weekend so I had one of my friends who is a hairdresser cut it for me. I had both kids with me, Micah was sitting on my lap while I got it cut and Sidney was in a chair next to me. We went at 8:00 am and I was done in time to get her to school by 9:00 am. The kids were very good but I will never get my hair cut with the kids again.
Last weekend we covered our chairs in our kitchen to make them more kid-friendly. They were so gross, well, not so much my chair and Chris' but the other two were pretty bad. This past summer, I hosed them down on the deck twice covered in Oxiclean and Shout and they just aren't getting to be as white as they used to. They now have a wonderful surface that we can wipe off! They don't look perfect but it only cost me $2.00 to make the switch. The people at Mill End are so generous! I always get a deal there and never expect to.
Quinn is now 3 months old. He was on the 16th so this is a little late. He is still such a good baby but is getting a little crankier in the evenings. He can hold his head up really well and giggles once in awhile. He loves to smile and follows me with his eyes all the time. Have you even gotten that feeling where you think someone is staring at you? Well, I do and I know it is always Quinn just watching to see where I am going and I am pretty sure his thoughts are, "Why isn't she holding me right now?"
He did have his first major outburst though in public. I was at a meeting on Tuesday night and took him with. Somewhere between our house and the place I went, his pacifier went missing. He started getting fussy during the middle of the meeting and so I went looking for his pacifier but couldn't find it anywhere. He also had some yucky clothes and apparantly pooped through them while we were at home. Chris changed his diaper but didn't change his clothes. Luckily, I brought some clothes with me for him at the last second. So, I had to change his clothes too. By this time, he was really crying and just wouldn't stop. I fed him, burped him and he still was crying. After about 2 hours, the meeting was over and I heard most of it from another room, it would have been nice if I could have sat through it. I felt bad for having him be so upset and distrubing the rest of the group. I immediately went to Target after the meeting and bought him some new pacifiers. The next day, we were getting in the car to go somewhere and I saw his pacifier on the floor of the garage. Ahhhh! That is where it went.
We are going to stay warm tomorrow, have a fire in our fireplace and Sidney and I are going to do our nails and have some girl time :)

I feel your pain on the cold. We didn't go anywhere today. Too cold!!! Mike is in Wisconsin at our church youth retreat. He just called and said they are freezing. Even when they are inside, he said they can't get warm. I'm glad I didn't go.
That always happens to me with Kendall's nuks. We search and search and can't find one. (and it is always at the most inconvient time) We will go to the store and buy a new one, and the other one will turn up.
Our supply has been dwindling down slowly and I refuse to buy anymore. I think this was about the time we got rid of them for Sammy. I remember it went pretty easy with Sammy. We'll see how easy it is with Kendall. She has been sick, so she has been walking around with a lot lately. We need to get back to nap and bedtime only routine. Kristi
